JEFF BRIDGES IS IN THE LIMELIGHT FOR CHAPLIN AWARD AFTER 50-YEAR CAREER

From Sharon Stone and Cynthia Erivo to Chris Pine, organisers of this year’s Chaplin Award Gala got together an impressive ensemble cast to celebrate the achievements of Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges.

Accepting his award in a glitzy ceremony at New York’s Lincoln Center, Jeff, 74, joined an exclusive list of past recipients, including Audrey Hepburn, Sidney Poitier, Meryl Streep and Viola Davis.

The Big Lebowski star, who attended with his wife of 47 years, actor and producer Susan Geston, told Extra it was “hard to put into words” how he felt about being honoured for his outstanding contribution to cinema over the past 50 years.

The actor said: “I don’t think of myself as making as many movies as I have, so to be recognised for my work is… spectacular.”

Sharon, who has been friends with Jeff for decades, paid tribute to him on the red carpet (together left). “Once you meet and know Jeff, you have a friendship that lasts. We’re lucky to have him,” she said.

Also among those honouring the night’s leading man was model Kiera Chaplin (right), who founded the award as a tribute to her grandfather, silent film legend Charlie Chaplin.

Sharing photos of Jeff on Instagram, Kiera told her followers: “He is charming, gifted, and kind.”

DUA LIPA IN PERFECT HARMONY WITH LOVE CALLUM

Training Season may be over, but Dua Lipa’s relationship with Callum Turner is anything but. In fact, there was more than a hint of Radical Optimism (and definitely more than One Kiss) as the two explored New York together in the spring sunshine (left and right).

Dua, 28, was first linked to Masters of the Air star Callum, 34, in January, when they were spotted dancing together at the afterparty following the series premiere. Days later, the couple appeared to confirm rumours that they were more than just friends on a night out in Santa Monica. They have since been each other’s plus-one – both on and off the red carpet – on numerous occasions in London and Los Angeles and, most recently, at the Time 100 Gala in New York. Dua even reportedly has a photo of the pair saved as her phone’s wallpaper.

Theirs is the latest high-profile romance for the star, whose past loves include singer Anwar Hadid and filmmaker Romain Gavras.

Opening up about the difficulties of dating in the public eye, Dua told Rolling Stone it was “a little confusing”, adding she relied on meeting new people “either through friends of friends or people [I] trust”.
